A garden once owned by the Darwin family is being opened to the public, with admission money going to a church restoration fund.

Charles Darwin was born in 1809 in The Mount, which overlooks Shrewsbury, and includes a walled garden, woodland and a river.

Tours of the naturalist's garden are available on Wednesdays until August.

Admission money will go to the roof restoration fund at St George's Church, Frankwell.
