Two gritting lorries have overturned while treating roads in Shropshire.

One gritter crashed on a lane near Wentnor Bank, the other on the B4386 between Worthen and Marton.

Shropshire Council said its contractors will be carrying an investigation into why the accidents happened.

Highways manager Gary Rogers, said: "The drivers and their mates are OK, thankfully - they are a little bit shook up but they're not injured."

Both the vehicles will not be recovered until next week "when it's safe to do so", he said.

Arriva buses and Tanet Valley buses have said there no services in the Oswestry area because of the snow.

The match between Shrewsbury Town and Oldham Athletic in Npower League One has been postponed.

A spokesman for the club said the referee made an early decision "with the safety of the supporters and players in mind".
