Woman in Telford murder inquiry was pregnant
A woman whose death is being investigated as murder was pregnant, police have said.
Kimberley "Kim" Russell, 27, was found dead in Brookside, Telford, by officers who forced their way into the property after a "concern for welfare" call.
Officers have been granted more time to question a man, 33, who was arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday.
A post-mortem examination was "inconclusive" but police were waiting for the results of further tests.
Ms Russell's body was found at the property on Blakemore on Monday afternoon.
Det Insp Steve Tonks, the senior investigating officer, said: "Although we do not yet know the exact cause of Kim's death, we are continuing to treat this as a murder investigation while we await the result of further tests.
"I can confirm, however, that Kim was pregnant when she died and clearly this makes her death even more of a tragedy.
"I'd like to reassure local residents that a significant number of resources continue to be dedicated to this investigation and we will continue to use specialist officers until we resolve this case."
Anyone with any information about the incident was urged to call West Mercia Police on 101 or contact Crimestoppers.
Det Insp Tonks said officers were particularly keen to hear from anyone who had information about Ms Russell's movements in the days before her death or anything related to her home address.
