The family of a 27-year-old woman who died when her car hit a fence and tree in Shropshire have paid tribute to their "beautiful star".

Rachel Maddox died when her car crashed in Berwick Road, Dunn's Heath, Shrewsbury, on Saturday morning.

Ms Maddox, from Meole Brace, had been alone in her black Seat Ibiza, driving in the direction of Baschurch, when the crash happened at about 10:40 GMT.

West Mercia Police urged any witnesses to come forward.

In a statement released by Ms Maddox's parents Bob and Jane, her brother Andrew and her boyfriend, they said they had been touched by the number of people who had been in touch since her death.

The statement said: "All the messages and photos show what a wonderful, beautiful girl she is, no airs and graces, just Rachel being Rachel.

"Rachel is a beautiful star that will be forever in our hearts, always remembered, never will be forgotten."
