Two men have been convicted of killing a man who was stabbed in Shropshire.

Jason Scott Cooke, 23, of Sutton Farm, Shrewsbury, died after an attack near the town's Monkmoor recreation ground in December 2011.

Peter Clinton, 25, of Caradoc View, Hanwood, was convicted of his murder at Birmingham Crown Court.

Damen McDonough, 24, of Darville, Shrewsbury, was found guilty of manslaughter. Both men are due to be sentenced on Tuesday.

Clinton was convicted on a 11-1 majority verdict after the five-week trial in Birmingham.

A third man, Aaron Doran, was cleared of manslaughter, but along with the other two was earlier convicted of aggravated burglary at a property in Abbots Road, Monkmoor, on 27 December 2011, the same day as the attack on Mr Cooke.
