Pedestrian badly hurt in Bomere Heath crash

A man is said to be in a serious condition in hospital after he was hit by a car in Shrewsbury.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said the man, in his 40s, was hit in Windsor Lane, Bomere Heath, at about 1815 GMT on Monday.

Paramedics at the scene had to sedate the man because of the severe nature of his head and chest injuries.

He was taken by ambulance to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, where he was said to be in a serious condition.
