Ketley baby death investigated by police

Police are investigating the death of a baby boy in Shropshire.

West Mercia Police said officers and an ambulance were called to an address in Woodside Road, Ketley, just before 08:00 GMT.

The baby was taken from the address to the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford but died soon after, police said.

The county's coroner has been informed of the death and a post-mortem examination is due to be held.

A police spokesman said the force was unable to make any further comment on the investigation at this stage.
