Shrewsbury canal path murder: Two men in court

Two men have appeared in court charged with murdering a 43-year-old man found injured on a Shropshire canal footpath.

Guy Benson Bebbington was discovered between Ditherington Road and Telford Way in Shrewsbury in the early hours of Friday last week. He died in hospital.

Stewart Doran, 21, from Bainbridge Green, Harlescott, Shrewsbury, and 18-year-old Bradley Davies appeared at Shrewsbury Magistrates' Court.

They did not enter a plea and were remanded in custody.

Mr Doran and Mr Davies, of no fixed abode, were also charged with intent to pervert the course of justice by disposing of clothing.

They are due to appear at Shrewsbury Crown Court on Monday.
