Catrin Rebecca Pickles, from Denbigh, Denbighshire, died in the crash on the A525 Shropshire Lane, near Whitchurch, at about 21:20 GMT on Sunday.

She was travelling alone when her silver Vauxhall Corsa was in collision with a white Volvo articulated lorry.

Anyone who saw either vehicle is asked to contact West Mercia Police.

Ms Pickles was driving towards Whitchurch while the lorry was travelling in the opposite direction towards Nantwich.

The lorry driver was uninjured but treated for shock.

In a statement, the force said: "We are anxious to receive any information which might assist us from witnesses of the actual collision or from anyone who spotted either vehicle being driven just before it happened.

"A post-mortem will be held and an inquest is expected to open later this week."
