Three people have appeared in court charged with robbery after an attack on a 76-year-old man in Shropshire.

Intruders broke into the man's home in Loppington, Shropshire, on 21 June and left him with a head wound and fractured eye socket.

He remains in hospital in a stable condition, police said.

The three teenagers were remanded in custody by magistrates in Shrewsbury on Monday and are due to appear at the town's crown court on 4 July.

Matthew Anthony Wood, 18, from Noble Street, Wem, Daniel James Jones, 19, of Aynesworth Green, Shrewsbury, and a 17-year-old who cannot be named because of his age, are all accused of robbery.
