Trio arrested after class A drug found in Telford

Three men have been arrested in Shropshire after police seized firearms, ammunition and class A drugs.

Police said officers searched a house in Holyhead Road in Oakengates, Telford, on Friday.

They found firearms and ammunition, as well as a small amount of what is believed to be a class A drug which was being stored in a freezer.

Three men - aged 59, 36 and 26 - have been arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug.

Officers are establishing whether the firearms are owned legally, a spokesman said.
