Arrest after stabbing during suspected Oxford robbery

A man has been arrested after a stabbing during a suspected armed robbery at an Oxford shop.

Emergency services were called to the The Premier store on The Oval, Rose Hill, at 16:45 GMT on Wednesday.

A South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) spokesman said a man was stabbed in the arm. It is not known if he was a customer or staff member.

The victim was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, where his condition was described as not life threatening.

Thames Valley Police said a 25-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of robbery and remains in custody.
