Work on a new retail park creating between 800 and 1,000 jobs in Oxfordshire will start in September.

Banbury Gateway will house retail units including M&S, Next and Primark, on a site alongside the M40.

Site owner LXB Retail Properties Plc said it had chosen contractor McLaren to carry out the demolition of the existing units and construction.

It hopes to open by Christmas 2015. In December, the Crown Estate announced £80m funding for the development.

The Banbury Gateway site in Acorn Way, Banbury, was formerly the headquarters of motorsport company Prodrive.
