A first aid charity is calling for volunteers to help treat sports fans for sprains, heat exhaustion and heart attacks.

St John Ambulance is recruiting for a new unit at Oxford's Kassam Stadium, home to Oxford United and London Welsh Rugby Football Club.

The organisation said volunteers "could be the difference between a life lost and a life saved".

Matches are currently covered by members from nearby units.

However, the new stadium unit will allow the first aiders to work more closely with match day officials.
