Oxford Network Rail work noise like 'angle grinder from hell'

7 March 2014 Last updated at 20:58 GMT

Network Rail has apologised to residents in an Oxford village for building work noise described by one resident, Rob Whitty, as "an industrial angle grinder from hell".

People in Wolvercote said they were not notified about the disturbance, which is caused by a new freight line being built to Banbury.

Across Oxfordshire, more than two dozen bridges will be modified this summer as part of a project to electrify the London to Bristol route.
