A man who died in a crash between a bin lorry and two cars was the "kindest, most loving man", his family said.
Andy Evans, from Thatcham, Berkshire, died in the crash, close to The Oratory School in Woodcote, Oxfordshire, on 11 September.
Mr Evans, who was a passenger in one of the cars, worked in the ambulance service.
A family statement said his death "left such a hole that will never be filled and he will be so sadly missed".
It added: "[He] joined the ambulance service to help others. He grew to love this career.
"Andy was a very knowledgeable man but really enjoyed a hands-on approach whether that was by saving lives or bringing a new life into the world."
'Big practical joker'
His family said Mr Evans would "drop everything to help others and loved all his family very much".
The statement added: "He was also a big practical joker and his day wouldn't have been complete without winding someone up."
The driver of the Subaru that Mr Evans was in, as well as the truck driver and the driver of a Ford Focus were taken to hospital following the collision.
The roads surrounding the A4074 were closed for several hours after the crash.
Thames Valley Police appealed for anyone who saw the crash to get in touch.
