Oxfordshire angler reels in briefcase containing guns

An angler has landed one of the more unusual catches - a briefcase containing guns.

The fisherman called police after hauling the bag from the River Thames in the Oxfordshire village of Binsey.

Thames Valley Police said the brown leather case contained "a couple" of firearms.

A spokesman for the force said officers had sent the weapons for examination to determine what type they are and to establish their significance.
