An inquest has been opened into the death of a four-year-old boy who was fatally injured when a mirror fell on him at a designer clothes shop.

Austen Harrison died on 8 June, four days after suffering head injuries at the Hugo Boss store in Bicester shopping village in Oxfordshire.

Austen, of Crawley, West Sussex, was taken to hospital after the mirror fell on him at about 20:30 BST on 4 June.

The inquest at Oxford Coroner's Court was adjourned to a date to be set.

On Tuesday, relatives described Austen in a statement as "a bright and vibrant boy".

Fashion label Hugo Boss cancelled a party for its London Collections: Men at the National Theatre on Monday, saying it would be "inappropriate" to host the event so soon after the tragedy.

Thames Valley Police is investigating the death.

Cherwell District Council is also assisting officers with the health and safety aspects of the investigation.
