Oxfordshire food banks claim to be twice as busy as 2012

Food banks in Oxfordshire say they are twice as busy compared to this time last year, as more people struggle to afford basic food supplies.

More than 500,000 people in the UK are relying on food handouts, according to the charity Oxfam.

It is calling on the government to investigate the link between changes to benefits and the growing number of people it says need handouts of basic necessities.
