An educational charity has submitted plans to build a science centre in the middle of Oxford which it says will create up to 150 jobs.

The £38m development next to Castle Mound will feature interactive exhibits, a planetarium and laboratory.

The charity behind the project, Science Oxford, expects the centre to bring in 150,000 visitors each year.

If permission is granted the development could be completed by summer 2015.

The three-storey building would replace offices at Macclesfield House and the registry office which would be relocated.
