Oxfordshire avoids major snow disruption

Snow in Headington A number of parts of Oxfordshire had a blanketing of snow, including in Headington

About 4cm (1.6in) of snow fell in parts of Oxfordshire overnight on Sunday but disruption was kept to a minimum.

Jack-knifed lorries earlier closed the A34 at the Peartree Interchange and the A2460 Oxford Road in Kidlington. Both roads have since been reopened.

The A34 crash was blamed on the conditions but it was unclear if the other incident was weather-related.

A Met Office yellow warning was in place across Oxfordshire for icy conditions.
