Driver dies as car leaves road near Brize Norton

A car driver died and two passengers were seriously injured when the car they were in came off the road in Oxfordshire.

Police were called shortly after 05:00 GMT to reports of the crash on an off-slip of the A40 near Brize Norton.

The driver of the silver Peugeot 207 was pronounced dead at the scene .

The two passengers, one male and one female, were taken hospital with serious injuries. It is not thought any other vehicles were involved.

The road was closed for several hours.
