Teacher jailed over sex at Oxfordshire school

A former deputy head teacher has been jailed for two years after he had sexual encounters with a male student on school premises.

Adam Williams, 35, and the 16-year-old boy began a relationship on a networking website.

Williams, of Gloucestershire, was also in charge of the sixth form at the Oxfordshire school.

He was found guilty of seven counts of abuse of a position of trust and one of inciting a child to sexual activity.

Oxford Crown Court heard the student had initially used a fake identity online, but the relationship continued after he revealed himself.

The prosecution said seven sexual encounters took place in Mr Williams's car and on school premises.

The jury saw text messages sent between the two from May to December 2011.

It was also shown an interview police carried out with the boy in which he said he felt "disgusted and guilty" about the encounters and did not consider himself to be the victim.

Mr Williams, of Ruardean Walk, Cheltenham, had denied all charges.

He was also disqualified from ever working with children again and placed on the sex offenders register for 10 years.
