A woman has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 52-year-old who was found dead in an Oxford flat.

The victim, believed to be 52-year-old Vittoria Baker, was found at the property in Friars Wharf in the city centre by police on Thursday.

A post-mortem examination found she had died from a stab wound.

Kauthar Silvera, 29, also of Friars Wharf, was remanded in custody after the hearing at Oxford Crown Court and is due to enter a plea on 5 November.

Thames Valley Police said formal identification of the woman's body was yet to take place.
