Banbury railway station to get multi-storey car park

A £10m multi-storey car park is to be built at an Oxfordshire rail station.

Chiltern Railways is aiming to create an extra 707 spaces at Banbury Station to accommodate a 14% increase in people travelling from the town.

Cherwell District Council said the proposals were likely to go before the planning committee in October.

The plan is to build the car park at the east side of the station, accessible by a link bridge.

The expansion is being financed by Network Rail, the Department for Transport and the Association of Train Operating Companies.
