Banbury industrial warehouse plans approved

A large industrial warehouse development in Oxfordshire has been approved by councillors.

The 115,197 sq m (1,239,970 sq ft) site outside Banbury would create 1,000 new jobs according to the developers.

Resident and councillor objections included loss of industrial land and an increase in HGV traffic.

But Cherwell District Council approved the plan because of its "sustainable development" and "increased employment opportunities".
