A34 shut after tanker spills diesel

Traffic queuing on the A34 Traffic jams of up to six miles built up after the road was closed

A dual carriageway in Oxfordshire was closed for about 12 hours after a tanker spilled 50 litres of diesel on to the road.

The southbound A34 between the A4130 Milton Interchange and the A4185 was shut from 14:30 GMT on Thursday until the early hours of Friday.

The carriageway had to be resurfaced following the spillage.

A six-mile traffic jam built up after the road closure - the second time the A34 has been shut in eight days.
