An Oxfordshire-based market research company has teamed up with a record producer to develop sounds for electric cars.

MMR from Wallingford is working with Steve Levine, who has worked with Culture Club and Louise.

It wants to discover the type of sound the public wants to hear when electric cars replace combustion engines.

The artificially-generated sounds will make the vehicles safer as pedestrians will be able to hear them approach.
