Body found in Nottingham factory after fire

Sherwood Works fire Investigations are under way to identify the body, along with the cause of the fire

A body has been found at a building destroyed by fire in Nottingham.

The Sherwood Works near Nottingham Road, New Basford, was found to be well alight when emergency crews arrived at about 01:30 BST.

A number of other buildings, including a Sainsbury's where a night shift team was working, were evacuated.

The factory is believed to have been part of a family business for about 30 years, with its owner said to be living in India.

Investigations are under way to identify the body, along with the cause of the fire.

Residents were advised to keep windows and doors closed because of the smoke.
