A man has appeared at the Old Bailey accused of financing terrorism in Syria.

Adeel Ulhaq, 20, was arrested when police searched a house in Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, in June.

He appeared in the court for a preliminary hearing and was bailed to return to court on 3 October.

Mr Ulhaq was arrested following an investigation by Nottinghamshire Police and the North East Counter Terrorism Unit.

A 43-year-old woman was arrested at the same time and was later released without charge.
