Man found in Nottingham refuse lorry dies

A man has died after he was found in the back of a refuse lorry.

It is not yet clear how he came to be in the vehicle which had been in Lyndhurst Road in Sneinton Dale, Nottingham.

Police said they were alerted at 05:10 on Thursday after a man had been seen in the lorry.

He was taken to the city's Queen's Medical Centre where he later died. A force spokeswoman said his death is not being treated as suspicious.

Police said the road would remain closed while investigations were carried out.

The lorry belonged to Wastecycle, a recycling and scrap and skip hire company, covering the East Midlands.

Director Paul Clements said: "The company are deeply saddened by the whole event and our thoughts and support go out to all affected."
