Man critical after Harvey Hadden building work fall

A man suffered serious head injuries when he was hit by a metal sheet and fell into the foundations of building work at a sports complex.

Emergency services were called to the Harvey Hadden centre in Bilborough at 08:30 GMT.

Police said the man was hit by a metal sheet and firefighters rescued the unconscious man from the foundations he had fallen into.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesman said the man was "critical".

The Health and Safety Executive and Nottinghamshire Police have started an investigation.

A £13.5m project to improve the sport and leisure facilities is currently under way at the complex.
