Teenager critically injured in Ruddington hit-and-run

A 15-year-old boy is in critical condition in hospital after a hit-and-run accident in Nottinghamshire.

The teenager and a 16-year-old boy were struck by a car on Clifton Road in Ruddington near Nottingham on Friday evening.

Nottinghamshire Police said a Y-registered black Audi A3 is believed to have lost control and struck traffic lights before hitting the two boys.

The three occupants of the car fled before police arrived.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested and bailed in connection with the accident.

The seriously injured boy, who was dragged along the road by the car, was taken to Queen's Medical Centre for treatment, police said.

The second teenager suffered minor injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has any information is asked to contact the police.
