Car fires lead to Nottingham road closures

Damaged cars in Valley Road in Nottingham Detectives are investigating two car fires in Valley Road

Police are investigating three car fires which led to road closures across Nottingham.

A Ford Puma and an Alfa Romeo were set alight in Valley Road, Sherwood, at about 20:45 GMT on Sunday.

No-one was injured and police said it was believed to be an "isolated incident".

Another vehicle blaze in Porchester Road, Thorneywood, at about 20:30 GMT is thought to have been caused by a mechanical fault.

Porchester Road's partial closure led to heavy traffic on Monday morning. Diversions were lifted after 14:00 GMT.
