Repair work to close flood-hit road near Gunthorpe bridge

A Nottinghamshire road is set to close for two nights for emergency repairs following damage caused by flash floods.

The A6097 south of Gunthorpe Bridge was damaged in July when heavy rain caused a landslip.

Motorists have experienced delays in the area since the carriageway was reduced to one lane three weeks ago.

It will close at 19:00 BST on Monday and Tuesday night, and reopen on Wednesday at 06:00.

The flooding caused a landslip which damaged the embankment and road surface.
