Blaze rips through Worksop recycling centre

Fire at the recycling transfer centre in Worksop More than 40 firefighters tackled the blaze at the Worksop recycling plant

Fire crews tackled a large blaze at a recycling centre in Nottinghamshire.

The blaze began at a recycling transfer centre in Shireoaks Road, Worksop, at about 04:30 BST.

People living nearby were warned to keep doors and windows closed due to the large clouds of smoke. There were no reports of any casualties.

At its height, more than 40 firefighters, along with crews from across the county and South Yorkshire were tackling the blaze.

A force spokesman said household waste products were on fire at the plant.
