The area close to where the assault took place was closed for most of the weekend

A 40-year-old man who died after being assaulted in a Nottinghamshire town has been named by police.

Glen Kitchens, from Worksop, was found in Bridge Street by police at about 19:30 BST on Saturday.

He was taken to Bassetlaw District Hospital where he was pronounced dead. A post-mortem examination is due to take place.

Nottinghamshire Police said four teenage boys arrested on suspicion of murder remained in custody.

The boys, three aged 15 and one aged 16, were arrested on Saturday night.

A police spokesperson said detectives were looking at CCTV from the town centre and speaking to witnesses to try to establish what happened.

A cordon remains in place at the scene but officers said they hoped to enable those shops closed over the weekend to open as normal on Monday.
