Man dead after being hit by lorry in Sherwood

An 88-year-old man has died after he was hit by a lorry in Nottingham.

The crash happened in Mansfield Road, on the A60, near the junction with Winchester Street, just before 14:30 GMT on Tuesday, in Sherwood.

The road was closed in both directions, between Edwards Lane and Haydn Road, and reopened at about 18:15 GMT.

The man has not yet been named by police who have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
