Old Basford pub shooting: Police ask for more witnesses
A new appeal for witnesses to a shooting in a Nottingham pub has been made by police.
A 22-year-old woman suffered a single gunshot wound at The Vernon pub in Old Basford on 17 August. She recovered after treatment in hospital.
Nottinghamshire Police have arrested and bailed six people in connection with the incident.
A £3,000 reward is being offered to anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
Ch Det Insp Louise Jordan said someone knew who was responsible and urged them to get in touch.
She said detectives had carried out extensive inquiries, trawled through hours of CCTV footage and spoken to people in the pub at the time of the shooting.
She added: "Each arrest represents a significant step in our investigation but we still need people to come forward and tell us what they know.
"Someone in the community may know who is responsible for injuring this woman.
"This is an isolated incident and we are committed to bringing whoever is responsible to justice."
The victim, who had been celebrating a friend's birthday, was shot at about 21:30 GMT in the pub's beer garden.
Julie Furnival, East Midlands regional manager for Crimestoppers, who are backing the appeal said: "Police believe the woman injured in the incident was an innocent bystander simply enjoying an evening out with friends.
"It is horrifying that people think they can fire a gun into a crowded public space and get away with it."
Officers handed out leaflets at the pub in Vernon Road, Old Basford on Tuesday appealing for more information.
