Police arrest man over Elkesley murder

Headland Avenue, Elkesley A man has been arrested in connection with the incident

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 64-year-old man was found with serious head injuries at a Nottinghamshire house.

Police were called to an address on Headland Avenue in Elkesley near Worksop in the early hours of Sunday.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesman said the man died on the way to hospital. A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out.

A 39-year-old man had been arrested and is currently in custody.

A cordon is in place at the house while scenes of crime officers carry out forensic examinations.

Officers are not looking for anyone else in relation to the man's death, the spokesman said.
