Nottingham shooting leads to three arrests

Three people have been arrested after shots were fired in a Nottingham street.

Police said a firearm was discharged in Vernon Road, Old Basford, at about 20:00 BST on Tuesday.

Officers carried out a search of the scene and arrested three men, aged 28, 29 and 31, who remain in police custody.

It is not thought anyone was injured but police have appealed for any witnesses to come forward.

A cordon remains at the scene between Burnaby Street and Gordon Street while investigations continue.
