PC Diederik Coetzee 'improving slowly' after hit-and-run

The daughter of a Nottinghamshire policeman who earned the nickname "robocop" for his extraordinary arrest record has been speaking of his slow recovery from a hit-and-run.

PC Diederik Coetzee suffered severe head injuries after being hit while cycling to the gym last November.

Rachel Coetzee said the incident had left the family "devastated" but said her 55-year-old father was gradually getting better.
