Camera project aims to unravel nature of dark energy
Scientists at the University of Nottingham are part of a world-wide project aimed at scanning some 300 million galaxies to find out the nature of dark energy.
The Dark Energy Survey's 570-million-pixel camera is capable of capturing 100,000 galaxies in a single image.
It will spend the next five years helping scientists to understand more about the mysterious matter that makes up nearly three-quarters of the universe.
