Arrests over Beacon Hill Conservation Park death

Police forensics at the scene in Newark Nottinghamshire Police closed the park to the public on Saturday

Five people have been arrested following the death of a man in a Nottinghamshire nature reserve.

Police were called to a disturbance at Beacon Hill Conservation Park, in Newark, at about 22:40 BST on Friday.

On arrival, a man's body was discovered on a path in the park, off Jessop Way. A murder investigation has begun.

The three men, one aged 27 and two aged 18, and two teenage boys, aged 16 and 17, arrested in connection with the incident, remain in custody.

They will be questioned by police on Saturday.

Nottinghamshire Police have put a cordon in place and the park is expected to be closed to the public for the rest of the day.

Police have appealed for witnesses.
