Balwinder Dhami attacked during burglary in Kimberley
A 64-year-old woman was threatened with a knife and had detergent sprayed into her face by burglars who broke into her Nottinghamshire home.
Balwinder Dhami was forced to the floor by a gang of up to four men after answering the door of her Kimberley bungalow on Saturday night.
The intruders snatched a necklace and bangles before ransacking the rest of the house in Bassett Close.
"I was so scared, I thought they were going to kill me," she said.
Police have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.'Through your neck'
Mrs Dhami described how she was punched and kicked to the floor by one of the men.
"He then told his partners to get some knives from the kitchen," she said.
"One of them walked around the room but the other sat down in front of me and said 'If you shout I'm going to put this through your neck'."
Despite handing over the small amount of cash she had, the gang poured a bottle of soft drink over Mrs Dhami and splashed boiling water around the rest of the property.
Her son Harnack said: "The police came to tell us and I thought she would die, the shock would kill her.
"A gang of men attacking a widow, what chance did she have?"
