Teenager dies after being 'hit by car' in Papplewick

A 15-year-old cyclist has died after apparently being struck by a car in Nottinghamshire.

Police were called to Forest Lane, in Papplewick, at about 14:20 BST on Sunday.

The boy, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at the scene. No-one else was hurt.

The road was closed at the junction next to the Griffin's Head pub while officers carried out inquiries but was reopened at about 21:00 BST.

Officers had originally given the victim's age as 12.
