Nottingham man appears in court over stabbing death

Pizza Express on King Street, Nottingham Police cordoned off Parliament Street and Queen Street while investigations took place

A 21-year-old Nottingham man has appeared before city magistrates charged with murder.

Marcin Cwiakalo, of Osborne Street, Radford, was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 25 June.

He is accused of fatally stabbing Mark Blades, 29, who was found at the rear of a restaurant in an alleyway off Parliament Street, Nottingham.

A Home Office post-mortem examination revealed he died from stab wounds.
