Raiders take necklace from 80-year-old woman in Hucknall

An 80-year-old woman had a necklace snatched from her when raiders forced their way into her Nottingham home.

Two men got into the bungalow on Bestwood Road, Hucknall, at about 22:30 BST on Monday and forced the victim to the floor.

The men took the necklace from her and searched her bedroom before they fled.

Police said the woman was left shaken and appealed for information about the crime.

Both men are thought to be in their early 20s. One was just over 5ft (1.52m) tall, while the other was taller and wore a hooded top with a scarf around his face, officers said.

Det Insp Hayley Williams, from Sutton CID, said: "This was a callous and despicable attack on an elderly woman in her own home.

"She must have been terrified at the sight of two complete strangers barging their way into her home - a place that should be a safe sanctuary for her."
