Murder charge after man stabbed in Rainworth

A man has appeared in court charged with murdering a 70-year-old man found injured in a Nottinghamshire street.

Police said Harry Tindall was found stabbed in Pearl Close, Rainworth, at about noon on 26 December and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jeffrey Burton, 60, also of Pearl Close, appeared before magistrates in Mansfield on Wednesday.

He is expected to make an application for bail at Nottingham Crown Court in the next few days.

A 54-year-old woman arrested in connection with the death has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
