Nottingham man charged with woman's rape

A 19-year-old man has been charged with the rape of a 22-year-old woman in Nottingham.

The woman was walking home alone on Mansfield Road when she was attacked and left at Forest Recreation Ground at about 04:00 GMT on Saturday.

She suffered serious facial injuries and remains in hospital in a stable condition, Nottinghamshire Police said.

Joseph Moran, of Walker Street, Sneinton, is due to appear before Nottingham magistrates on Wednesday.

He has been charged with rape and one count of section 18 wounding with intent.
